What color should i spray paint my park bars?
I know it is illegal but the council painted the dip bars dark green so they get hot as hell and burn my hands! im doing us a favour LOL so what color would attract less heat?
any light color will reflect the sun- darker colors soak the heat into the object. You could go to a fitness store (like a sporting/outdoors store) and buy special pads for the bars instead- they usually stick to the bars with a special wear-resistant tape or velcro. It isn't illegal to install those and its a lot easier to install (and you don't have to wait for paint to dry!)
If you can't find those, make them yourself with a high-grit sandpaper or other durable textured material, get two-sided tape (industrial type) and wrap around the bars where people normally grip.
The only other thing I can suggest is maybe contact the coucil and ask for them to change it (tell them why)- or at least offer to change it yourself... Exercise is supposed to be healthy, and you can't be in too good a shape spending time in jail or paying a fine just because the bars were hot. It isn't worth it!
