Just got skater shoes and...?
I've never had or worn DC's before so I'm not really sure what to wear them with... My other shoes were Converse so these are obviously way different and easier to match with
Well they are pink, grey and white DC's so I wanted to wear something to match that, so I have this striped grey and white thing from aeropostale... It's not in the store but I'll describe it. It has a hood and is elbow length. It has a drawstring at the waist and goes down about 5 more inches under the drawstring. There is a little pouch pocket in the middle and it is a deep v-neck so I was going to put a pink top under. But I was afraid it would be like preppy meets skater and it'd look stupid. I'm inexperienced at this!!! Would this look okay?
And what kind of pants? I was thinking about a mini skirt but are flare jeans okay? Flares are the only ones I wear and would they look dumb? If my outfit is dumb please give suggestions! I want to do this right, thanks!
Your skater shoes will go with anything, really. Don't worry too much about matching your shirt to your shoes. Save that for when you start wearing heels and have flats and sandals up to your eyeballs (it happens to most women, anyway... :])
The shoes you have are casual. Please don't ever wear tennis shoes with a mini skirt. That is such a no-no! Instead, wear jeans. After fall/winter, they'd also be fine with shorts/capris/bermudas.
Don't worry too much about preppy-vs-skater or whatever. Personally, fashion is a lot of fun when you can combine and clash different styles.
