We put the wrong kind of paint on our bedroom walls. We asked the walmart clerk for SATIN paint and he mixed?
SEMIGLOSS ENAMEL! We didn't pay any attention as it says it down low on the label . The only thing we looked at was the color - gold.
We painted three walls last night. The consistency of the 'satin paint' was like WATER! Is it possible he mixed satin + semigloss ?
We blamed lightbulbs in the bedroom for it being shiny - and satin is a little shinier than flat - the primer we were comparing to.
Then this morning when it was dry we couldn't figure out why it was still so shiny and slick looking. I was coming in here to ask 'answers' what we could do to cover the shiny satin paint.
When I looked at the label to quote it exactly it said "Interior latex semi-gloss wall & trim" !!!
First I was shocked, then mad, then amazed that the mixer could be so stupid, then amazed that I didn't double check by reading the label!
NOW what can I do? There is only a third of a can left and we have walls that shine like wet mustard!
satin is a little less shiny than semi gloss, but should cover when you repaint. you should never buy paint at wal-mart because those people are not professionals and don't know the difference between sheen's.
