Why wear a silver ribbon? Why is it important?
In listening to the recent situation with Paris Hilton and seeing the perspective the world has of the USA. I am concerned with the future of both our country and our children. The court and jail system is a joke and is being displayed as such, for the world to see. I am discouraged with the over all way this is being handled. It is making a mockery of America and I'm embarrassed to say I'm a part of it. I have kids growing up in a world where morals aren't important and playing "dumb" is popular. I am discussed and ask others to stand up and show the world that America is so much more than what the media and it's money hungry paparazzi have portrayed us to be. Mother's stand up and lead the way to showing the world what it means to be American. I'm asking everyone who reads this to show their support by wearing a silver ribbon. Silver can be molded just as our children are by the world around us.
Although I support your platform, I doubt I'll be wearing a silver ribbon to make a statement. I would like to see our government take their jobs of governing for the benefit of our country and it's citizens seriously for a change. Why we are wasting our time and money on the demands of illegal invaders instead of protecting and strengthening borders, ports and infrastructure just boggles my mind!
Paris Hilton is just a celebrity figure thrown into the mix to divert the public from what really is going on day after day. Why the media believes PH story is more important than our troops in Iraq is disgraceful. Although we are aware of the war, we have become desensitized to it's effect and impacts on our everyday lives.
Everywhere I look developments, condominiums, businesses, freeways have built 20' walls to cut down on traffic noise, pollution and robbery....you see them everywhere...millions of miles of walls. Why our country has only built 13 miles of fencing at the border is something Bush should be held accountable for. That's if the Democrats and the White House fat cats can take their heads out of their butts long enough to actually focus on what really needs to be done!
