Does Clairol still make "Silk and Silver" hair rinse...?
They sold it years ago...and it was great for salt and pepper hair.
Since my hair want noticably white (and I quite coloring it), I looked around for a good shampoo to keep my whites white--my grandparents had such lovely sparkling white hair. Tried Pantene for silvers but didn't see it taking out the yellow (maybe I needed to leave it in for 3-5 mins but the bottle doesn't say that so I never tried). Then I found Clairol Shimmer Lights and, like the others, it does work. You do have to leave it in from 3-5 minutes for it to do its thing. I used it at least once a week, sometimes twice if I'm not in a huge hurry to get out of the shower. But I have a hard time finding it in the stores around me so I have to buy it online (I think I go through Amazon.com). You'd think with more and more of us coming into our silver years, there'd be more products catering to us out there--but I guess a lot of us are still dyeing the gray.
