When you buy a new sidekick can you pop your sim card in and your ready to use it?
Well the title says it all. Also do you have to pay an activation fee or a cancelation fee of 175 bux or something for upgrading to a new sidekick? I dont mean to cancel your plan I mean to upgrade your cell phone.

to upgrade you must have your phone for 11 months on a 1 yr contract or 22 months for a 2 yr contract. if you havent the sidekick will cost A LOT more. you can always upgrade but you will pay more if your phone doesnt qualify for an upgrade yet. also, when you pop your sim card in its not ready. you need to charge it for at least 4 hours and wait for the activation screen which can take 2 days. it wont let you use anything while waiting. there is a override which is MENU + L but it'll keep doing the activation screen until you sign up for the sidekick data plan.
