What is the law on divorcing a Moroccan woman I married in Morocco?
This is actually a question on behalf of my probably very stupid step brother who is 40yrs old and married a 21yr old Moroccan girl last year in Morocco. There has been no marriage in England and it has now become very apparent (even to him) that she has taken him for an absolute fool and her whole family is involved in basically sending her over here to obtain a passport (which we know isn't instant)
We are pretty sure (without asking him outright) that the marriage hasn't been consumated which would of course count towards divorce in this country but does it have any bearing when we are dealing with a wedding held in Morocco.
Basically we want the quickest, cheapest way out of this mess for the stupid boy. He can't afford heft solicitors bills so any advice would be so welcome.

indeed many moroccan women and families are waiting to put their claws on older victims thinking that they are their gateway to the good life.
ur step brother needs to hire a competent attorney (who will also probably be greedy and take advantage of him) to represent him in divorce proceedings in morocco. keep the judgment for your records in case this snake comes back with any claims. nothing needs to be done on the uk side.
