What to do for a girls 5th birthday party?
I am looking for ideas for my daughters 5th birthday party, she has already had
2nd birthday - farm party
3rd birthday - tumble time party
4th birthday- hall party with a magician
5 is an awkward age as they are too you to take to the cinema or swimming and places like that.
Would love some ideas please? Thanks.
We had a tea party for my daughter's 5th birthday. Not only did the girls have a wonderful time but the pictures from the party are still among our favorites because the huge smiles on the kids faces. We actually held the party at a tea room but you can just as easily do this at home.
All the girls arrived at the party wearing party dresses and accompanied by their favorite doll. For the main activity we set up a mini manicure station, a make-up station (girls of this age love doing their own make-up, and yes, it is over done and a bit smeared but absolutely adorable because it is kid-like, and not pageant perfect), and an accessory station full of beads and "pearls", boas, little purses and Easter style hats. After they were all dolled up they preceded to have their photos taken. You could probably add a photo frame decorating station, too, if you need to fill more time. Then the girls sat down to a traditional tea (or hot chocolate), replete with tea sandwiches, scones, and mini pastries. We ended the afternoon with a girl / doll fashion show where I gave a few brief facts about each girl and described her outfit as she twirled down the runway.
Make your life easy - rather than running around town order kids Easter bonnets, small assorted sequin diva purses, 6ft feather boas (cut them in half), and costume beads or Mardi Gras beads directly from Amazon.
My daughter and her friends turned 16 this year, yet when they get together, they still reminisce about the tea party.
