What are some ideas for a beach themed bedroom for a 17 year old girl?
I'm 17 and I live in Chicago. not a fan of the cold, and wishing I was in California. I'm redoing my room and would like it to remind me of the sun, sand, and surf in California.
I don't want it to have that "beach bedroom" feel. I want it to really feel like a beach!!! I want a surfboard, does anyone know where to get one for cheap?
Bamboo curtains, try craigslist or ebay for surfboards, Get posters of waves and beaches, if your getting new carpet get sand colored, Maybe even put a sand box in the corner with a heating lamp so you can sit and relax. Just with the sand box, careful if you have a cat, LOL. And get plants, too. They clean the air and make it feel more open. Make sure you have plenty of light, and bamboo gives a beach like feel. Maybe get one of those wave sound things, or a fountain, some thing for water. Maybe a fake palm tree. And maybe coconut cups! Here's some for real cheap:

Maybe a painted wall, with like a scene. Like, one wall with water and a sunset, and he rest a beach, maybe a hut on one wall (The door to the hut could be the door to your room) Good luck!
